Helping the Widows Program

Our Widows Program is one of the most rewarding works in Liberia.

These women have weathered through many brutal and agonizing situations. They have watched as many died all around them. Most have lost their husbands in the war or to some fatal disease. They have been left with many babies to raise and often those of young single girls who cannot raise their own children because they are very young themselves.

Our boys at My Father's House distribute rice to the widows every Saturday. They prepare ahead to share an inspirational message and have a time of worship. The widows will walk a distance to come for their weekly rice and fellowship. These are the grandmas who will go hungry themselves to see that all the children have eaten first.

When you bless a widow with a bag of rice, you have given to someone who is deeply grateful.

We are hoping to expand this program and give oil and salt along with their portions of rice. Soap would be a great gift too.
