Hope Home Children are back in School

We’re thrilled to share that 100 students are now registered and attending schools across Liberia! They are all very excited to be going back to school! Of these students, 48 live in our Children’s Homes,  Others come from single mother’s homes or families facing financial challenges to fund their children’s education. Thanks to your support, they’re all able to pursue their education and bright futures!

It’s been a busy couple of months for our team at Provision of Hope! Our staff has been hard at work collecting report cards, checking in on students’ progress, and visiting schools to get everyone registered for the new academic year. We’re proud to say we have some incredibly bright students—some have even skipped a grade! Every day after school we have tutoring classes which really help!

Students in Liberia all wear uniforms to school with new black shoes.  We buy book bags for each of them to carry their copy books and pens.  Every child knows it’s a golden opportunity to go to school in this country. There are still many who are not in school simply because they don’t have the funds. Every year the school fees keep going up, to make it almost impossible for families with such low incomes to be able to afford any education at all for their kids.

Provision of Hope believes that every child deserves the right to an education. We believe that Education is vital in breaking the cycle of poverty. We are especially grateful for the opportunity to educate girls. We have girls who we have funded through university and today, they have degrees in Nursing! They also have jobs! Others are currently attending university or trade schools, continuing to build bright futures.

Caroline Cooper and Mark Gbolue’s Stories of Resilience:
Caroline Cooper Gr.5 – was abandoned by her father when her mother died. Her aunt Diamond is raising her. She would not be in school without our help. Caroline is a very sharp student!

Mark Gbolue is in Gr. 7 – Up until a few months ago, he lived in Eric and Kamah’s Home. His mother is now at a place where she can provide for him and his sister with the assistance of Provision of Hope for schooling. Provision of Hope is all about keeping families together.
