Easter is always a glorious time to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ! It is estimated that over two billion Christians worldwide observe Easter, and Liberia certainly is counted among them. This marks Easter as the most important holiday in the Christian liturgical calendar!

Eggs, Popcorn Bags, and Boiled Eggs for Easter at Ma Esther’s Home!
Our homes in Liberia all start celebrating Easter at their local churches. They come home to special food and family time. This year, Daniel Coleman prepared a Bible Study with Resurrection verses for the children to memorize and study. It was also a time when they could ask questions. He had verses like Luke 24:6-7: “He (Jesus) is not here; for he has risen!”

Uncle Daniel, as the kids call him, came with Easter Eggs and loads of Candy with
Popcorn Bags and “The Golden Egg”, which is the prize that all the kids want to find! There is always money inside that special egg.
This year, Daniel found plastic eggs and filled them with lots of candy! As an Easter tradition, the home also had freshly boiled eggs, which were a treat for everyone, too! Daniel is always great at creating new games and having fun celebrations for the kids.

We were honored to have Darlyn join us at Ma Esther’s Home for our Easter celebration. A passionate counselor with a degree in Sociology. She was referred by Pastor Malcolm, and connected beautifully with the kids. Darlyn encourages them to embrace their worth and potential, and to be all that God has created them to be. Her uplifting words like “Your voice matters” and “You have a hope and a future” brought joy and inspiration to our Easter gathering.
Darlyn runs a ministry called “ Find Me” and works with the girls in her community. She visits Otis and Benetta’s home as well as Eric and Kamah’s. The kids open up to her and start sharing their concerns. This is so good!
