Bendu, You are a Champion!

Bendu Kollison, we are so proud of you!

You’ve finished your studies in Cosmetology, and today you are a graduate! You’ve overcome so many challenges and hardships, and now we celebrate all that you’ve achieved. You’re a young lady with so much talent. You’re loving, kind, and mature, with a beautiful heart.

Bendu now has her own customers who come to her for hair braiding and all kinds of beauty services. She’s skilled in nails and makeup, too. Her dream is to one day own her own beauty salon.

At Bendu’s high school graduation in 2023, Daniel Colman was there to support her! Thank you for your unwavering commitment to Bendu and so many others who benefit from your care and guidance. You are a man filled with compassion, and your support means more than words can express.

Bendu is who she is today, largely because of the impact Daniel Coleman has had on her life. Daniel, I want to honor you for walking so closely with her, like an older brother. You’ve stood by her through both the hard times and the joyful moments. You deserve to be recognized; you were also a constant support for Grandma Demowa.

We want to say a big thank you to the Mitchell Elementary School for funding Bendu to school all these years. What a blessing!

We first met Bendu when she was just five years old, living with her grandmother. It was the night of their house fire when we first met them.

Their home after the fire

Grandma Demowa’s house burned to the ground. They lost it all. They were left with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. It was a miracle that no one died in the fire, because it happened at night. The neighbour in the locked room beside them left a candle burning and fell asleep.

Bendu had no dream of ever going to school. Her grandma was too poor, and they barely had enough food to eat.

Daniel’s motivation really kept her focused

Bendu and her grandma were very close. As Grandma grew older and developed dementia, Bendu took care of her at a young age. Despite the challenges, she still managed to keep up with her schoolwork and studies. Bendu even became a tutor for other students.

It was a very sad day for Bendu when her grandma passed away. After her passing, Bendu went to live with her uncle.

Mama Karen made sure to see Bendu on every trip to Liberia. They bonded from an early age and shared a special connection.

Outreach to Bomi County

Daniel Coleman, our Director of Mercy Ministry, recently made a return visit to his birthplace in Bomi County, a place he cherishes and visits whenever he can. On each trip, he personally delivers used clothing, slippers, and rice to the community. They know him by name and are always happy when he visits. In the recent visit, Provision of Hope supported Daniel’s efforts with a small contribution, helping provide flip-flops and used clothing. He’s also brought some treats, such as popcorn,

LIBERIA NEEDS BIBLES

Nothing brings me more joy than giving out Bibles! I know what the Word of God does for me, and I want others to experience the same God encounters that I have experienced while reading my Bible. “The Bible is my source of strength. It is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105 It gives me hope and comfort. I get to know God, His character, and His Ways. The Word of Godis alive.
