Meet Darlyn Esther Richards – Our Newest Team Member at Provision of Hope!
With a degree in Sociology and experience as a Youth Counselor, she brings valuable insight and compassion to our work.

Darlyn runs a ministry called “Finding Myself Initiative”, where she counsels young girls and supports them through their personal challenges. She has fun with them, prays with them, and introduces them to Jesus.
Darlyn is strong in her faith and comes highly recommended by Pastor Malcolm Harris. Provision of Hope is now a partner with her ministry. She provides toiletries and other personal hygiene supplies for the girls; it’s a way of showing her love and care. This is where we can help her with funding for their needs!

Darlyn is employed with the National Legislature Information Center of Liberia. She has been with us since January 2025.
Darlyn visits our Children’s Homes regularly, initially with Pastor Malolm Harris, and now with Daniel Coleman. We saw the need to bring in a female counsellor to support our youth in our homes, and Darlyn has stepped into that role. She has a gift for listening to their concerns and speaking words of encouragement and guidance. Darlyn also holds private sessions with the girls, the boys, and even the parents. This support has been incredibly helpful all around! It is clear that Darlyn is truly called to this work!
Darlyn speaks to our youth about the realities of life. In her own words: “First, embracing ourselves, who we are, self-worth, esteem, and adding values with confidence and above all, reference to God, whose image we are made in. With this, we can handle lots of life challenges.” She addresses important topics such as sexual purity, personal hygiene, developing good attitudes at home, and living for God. Darlyn also helps them think ahead, preparing for the transition from our homes to independent living and encouraging them to set goals for life after high school.

It is amazing to see the youth get comfortable sharing with her. Darlyn provides a safe place for them to share their conflicts, challenges, temptations, and dreams for the future. She brings hope!
So many youth in Liberia are struggling. With few opportunities for education or jobs in a nation facing high unemployment, many are turning to drugs and sex as a way to cope. Our goal is to raise strong Christian leaders who can impact this nation for Christ!

We share God’s words, “I know the plans I have for you, declared the Lord, plans to prosper you, not to harm you, PLANS TO GIVE YOU A HOPE AND A FUTURE” Jeremiah 29:11. We encourage our youth to grow in their intimate walk with God.
