Ma Hawa Dyega and Ruth Dyega graduated on November 15th. We are so proud of you!! This is a noteworthy achievement: graduating from high school and passing your West African Examinations with good marks. Well done girls!!
Provision of Hope is always thrilled to see our girls graduate! We believe in the African Proverb, “ If you educate a man, you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman, you educate a whole nation.”In many parts of Africa, girls are often held back or leave school due to challenges like unplanned pregnancies or financial difficulties. Still, we see great potential in our students. Those who stay focused, like Ma Hawa and Ruth, perform exceptionally well and hope to continue their studies.
We usually recommend trade school right after high school to help them mature and plan their future. To qualify for our university scholarship, students must earn excellent grades and pursue a field that leads to job opportunities after graduation.
Ma Hawa and Ruth we believe God knows the plans He has for you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Pa Otis planned a great home party after the graduation ceremonies! They had special food and music!
The boys dressed in their sister’s clothing. It was hilarious. They actually fooled me! Haha! I asked Daniel Coleman who the girl was. It was James Dyega!! Really?!!! Yes!!! I recognized Nelson’s face in his girl costume, but not John’s.
Both Ma Hawa and Ruth gave amazing speeches. Ruth got very emotional when she mentioned that she wished her late mother could be there to see this joyful day. Ma Hawa lost her mother, Marthaline, who died suddenly in 2012. Marthaline was Pa Otis’s first wife. They had a moment of silence to honor both these mothers.
A fun home party!!

Thank you, Pa Otis, for the value you put on education for your children. The students in this home take their study classes seriously. They have a home tutor, as do all our homes. We find this really helps to bring their grade levels up.
We appreciate Daniel Coleman for attending the girl’s graduation! He started out early and got home late in order to be there. I love the beautiful scarves he presented to both girls on behalf of Provision of Hope, along with a gift of money to go shopping. Thank you for reading the letters I wrote to them.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Kevin and Wilma Reimer of Mitchell, Manitoba, for the many years they have faithfully sponsored Ma Hawa. Your support made this milestone possible.
We also extend a sincere thank you to Wendell and Diana Head, along with their daughter Lydia, from Steinbach, Manitoba, for your sponsorship of Ruth. Both girls are deeply grateful and recognize that your generosity has opened the doors that made this day a reality.

Thank you to all our donors for your incredible generosity. Because of you, our children have been able to move from poverty and substandard schools into private schools that provide a higher quality education.
