My heart is full of gratitude for the many who give so faithfully to our work in Liberia!
I pray a bountiful blessing back on you and your families in 2019!
All the children in our Homes got new clothes at Christmas. They were thrilled. They had special food to eat which made this day extra special.
We are looking forward to expanding our work in 2019 as God continues to Provide!
Here is a list of the various projects we are involved in. You can see more if you go to our homepage and click under OUR PROJECTS

It’s your giving that makes our work possible … Thank you so much!
SMILES on their faces and JOY in their hearts!!
We were greeted with a cheerful welcome as our car pulled up to Eric and Kamah’s Home! They were so happy to see us!! All 21 children swarmed around us as we entered the yard!! This is a typical Liberian hello!! Warm and Friendly!!
We had such a good time with Eric and Kamah and their precious children. I can’t wait to show you Ma Esther’s Home and Otis Dyega’s Home next! It was so wonderful to see Dapae and Rita and Andrew Wallace from Maryland. Hopefully one day we will brave the LONG 2 day road trip to see them and their children.
Thank you to all Eric and Kamah’s sponsors and others who give to Provision of Hope to provide for the needs of these dear children. What a blessing you are to their home. To know Eric and Kamah is to know a couple who is deeply grateful!
They are devoted to God and to raising these children to personally know Jesus Christ and how much He loves them.
Our children in Liberia and our parents want to wish all our donors a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
They are most grateful for the joyous Christmas they all had and for the bundles of clothes and gifts that you made possible for them! ” God Bless you and prosper you in the New Year! We are so grateful!”
A Big Thank you to all our donors who have given so generously to help so many people in Liberia, who have needed your help. God bless you abundantly for your kindness!
We are celebrating with our children Favor Kiepea and Alvin Sherman on their Graduation Day! They have both passed from kindergarten to Grade 1! In Liberia this is a cap and gown ceremony! Many special guests come to celebrate this day!
We will be registering close to 150 students to school next month. We have several thousand to raise yet before August. God help us, keep our children in school! We know that education makes a way out of poverty. We see that in our university and college graduates. Education opens the door to opportunities.
Thank you donors! Thank you sponsors of Favor and Alvin! Look at what you are doing for these kids!
For the sake of the children,
What a happy day for Ma Esther and her children!! They are so grateful to be back in their home community. Thank you to so many people who made this day possible! Ma Esther is touched by your kindness.
The smiles on their faces tell it all! They are home at last. We all decided it was best for them to move after they completed their first semester of school. They moved in the last week of February.
The Elm Creek and Pine Falls fundraisers each raised over $ 7,000 early into 2015. What a blessing!!
“Raise the Roof” in Mitchell, MB raised $ 28,000 in May 2015. Amazing!!
After this, I knew we were off to a good start. I wanted to wait until going over in March 2016, to meet with the contractor and see if we could use the foundation that was there. Unfortunately, this was not possible. The heat from the fire had caused too much damage. The demolished bricks and foundation, was used up by others in the community who crushed it and used it for gravel at their building sites. I was glad to see it being used.
Thank you to the employees at Barkman Concrete and the Barkman Foundation for selecting Provision of Hope Liberia as your Global Fundraiser again this year. You surprised us with a generous 13,845 right when we needed it to finish off the interior of the house, build the out door kitchen and all the keyhole gardens. This will provide the money needed too, to get Ma Esther’s business up and running.
Thank you to so many others, who sent in generous amounts and to those who give so faithfully every month. It’s because of your giving that we can continue reaching out and making a difference for others.
God bless you!
Thank you to everyone who gave to make Christmas such a special time for our Children.
Otis Dyega’s children as well as Ma Esther’s children all had a wonderful Christmas. Everyone had special food and new clothes. They planned extra activities with the children and reflected on the true meaning of Christmas… the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
They all say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone!! ” You are a blessing to us!!”
Provision of Hope’s new home for Ma Esther and her children is progressing well.
This is a 4 bedroom house with 2 full bathrooms, a large living room, a dining room and a shop attached to the house. The shop is intended for Ma Esther’s future business. The outside is primed, and all the windows and doors are in.
Here are photos of the kitchen, the living room and the dining room. We are happy with how well things are progressing. We have an engineer/architect who comes in regularly to inspect the workmanship of this project. He is giving us very good reports, and adds his recommendations as we go along. We are confident this house is well built.
The ceramics in both bathrooms are well done. The workmanship is very good.
Below is a look at one of the bedrooms and the shop which is attached to the house.
We are very grateful for all who donated towards this project. Thank you to the Elm Creek and Pine Falls folks who came out to those fundraiser nights in Manitoba. Thank you to everyone who came out to “Raise the Roof” in Mitchell. You are most amazing! Barkman Concrete in Steinbach gave us a generous donation just before the fire in December 2014. What a blessing this was! Others of you donated for this emergency too. Your generosity made it possible to rent a home for Ma Esther and the children, buy bunk beds, blankets and clothing etc. while we planned for the new building.
Ma Esther and her children are so grateful for all you have shared with them. “May God bless you for all you have done for us” You should have heard the children scream with delight when I announced that we would start rebuilding!!! They cannot wait to be back home!
To finish this project we still have: a) $ 5,000 to complete the house b) the outdoor kitchen c) furniture for the living room and dining room d) shelves and a counter for the shop e) crushed rock to put around the front of the house to keep the mud out.
Ma Esther and the children will move into the completed house, after their first semester of school is completed. This will be the best time for them to transition over to their former school. Their rent, in the house they are in, expires January 31st, 2017.
Our Organic Garden Team will be moving into the house until Ma Esther and the children move in . They will work on the organic gardens and be security for this new home. The older children will be helping with the business as well as the gardens once they move in. Lucy Wolo graduated from a tailoring school and is hoping for a sewing machine, to start custom tailoring.
Thank you sponsors and donors for all you are doing for the children of Liberia!
Our Parents and Children are all wishing you a “VERY BLESSED NEW YEAR. WE ARE THANKING GOD FOR YOU AND ASKING HIM TO RETURN A BLESSING TO YOU FOR ALL YOU HAVE GIVEN TO US!!” Thank you to the “many” who donated towards our Christmas fund this year. You made it possible to meet so many needs in ALL our project areas. I am overwhelmed by your kindness. Thank you so much!
Our Hope Home children all got new clothes. We bought used clothing by the bags for each of our 4 homes. Our widows had extra portions of rice, oil and soap. Our students can keep going to school. More small businesses are helping whole families to stand on their own. Agricultural projects are moving forward in organic gardening, poultry, goat and pig farming. We brought several more refugees home. We bought mattresses and helped others to get medical help or food. This is all because there are people here in North America who go beyond their own needs to help others. And….God says He “will” reward you … ” Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.” Proverbs 19:17
Notice all the happy smiles on our Christmas photos!! One thing I always notice in the children after they have lived in our homes for some time is that … Their EYES COME ALIVE!!
What a blessing to see smiles on the faces of these children and “know” that each one is cared for and loved. Thank you for making this possible!!
Provision of Hope would like to thank everyone who helped to make “Raise the Roof No.4” such a fabulous event! Together we raised over $ 28,000! We are getting closer and closer to rebuilding Ma Esther’s Home that was burned just before Christmas. The Pine Falls Fellowship Dinner raised over $ 7,000. The Elm Creek Dessert + Coffee also raised over $ 7,000. To rebuild we will need $ 45,000 US. We are almost there!
Elaine Peters, Founder of Raise the Roof with Karen Barkman. Emmanuel Davis ( Son of Ma Esther) with his wife Angela and their children. Emmanuel says ” God bless everyone for your kindness towards his mother!”
Ma Esther is so grateful for all you are doing for her and the children. She is really overwhelmed at your generous giving. Ma Esther, herself grew up as an orphan child. It was always her dream to help other needy children. The photo on the rt. shows the children in their school uniforms. Some of the children are missing in this photo.
There were so many people who gave of their time and talents to make our 4th RAISE THE ROOF another BIG success!
Corny Rempel, from Mix 96, you are the best MC!! Thank you for coming out, 4 yrs. in a row!!
Sweet Water Creek you are one of my favorite bands!! You were awesome!
Karen Sawatzky we could not do these events without you in the kitchen. You sure do make scrumptious food. It was all home cooked, and yes she will give out her recipes. Abe Sawatzky, your help is so appreciated. You and Reg Peters are a great team!
Lisa Rempel thank you for doing the decorating. It was perfect!
Thank you to Granny’s Poultry for donating the chicken again.
We had 40 volunteers, who all deserve to be mentioned by name.
Elaine Peters I love your passion and heart. Thank you for founding “Raise the Roof” This is the 5th home we will be building. Frank Doiron was the inspiration behind Dapae and Rita’s home. Every one of these Hope Home parents were living in very poor conditions before these homes were built. These homes are all dedicated to raising orphan and abandoned children. What an incredible blessing this has been to the children of Liberia. Many people have helped to make all this possible.
