Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day …. a day to Love and be Loved!

Today I was thinking about a quote I heard Heidi Baker share once, ” Love Looks Like Something”  Heidi is Jesus  to the poor in Mozambique!   “What does love look like? It has hands to help others.  It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy.  It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men.  That is what love looks like” Saint Augustine.

Reflecting on ” What does love look like?” I couldn’t help thinking about our Children’s Homes in Liberia and the amazing parents we have in our homes! They love these children like their very own! They give their lives for them.  Often they get little rest. They serve with so much kindness and love.  Our children are so blessed to have this kind of care!

Salome came to Eric and Kamah's home as a very small child. All she has known is love and care! Salome came to Eric and Kamah’s home as a very small child. All she has known is love and care!
Eric and Kamah model what love looks like! First to each other then to all the children in their home. Eric and Kamah model what love looks like! First to each other then to all the children in their home.
Eric and Kamah have a huge family of 24 kids. We took this photo on our last visit. What a great time we had playing sorry with the kids, eating Kamah's delicious food and listening to the children sing. What a happy home! Eric and Kamah have a huge family of 24 kids. Dapae and Rita are amazing parents. They just added another small abandoned child. Dapae is the senior pastor in their church and Rita is a powerful woman of prayer! Otis and Benetta show so much love to their family of 14. They are like parents to Roger and Ruth and their family too! They pastor their local church close to their home. We had the privilege of visiting the church when we were there. We just starting a widow's rice distribution with the widows in this church. Otis and Benetta show so much love to their family of 14. We had an awesome time visiting Ma Esther's Home after church! Mae played all kinds of games with the kids, teaching them new games with the soccer balls we brought. Of course they had a lovely program for us showing us their talent in singing , speeches and memorized Bible verses. The food was lovely too. We are so proud of all our parents! They are most definitely called to this. They have all come out of extreme poverty themselves. I'm sure that is what inspired them to be the parents they are to these children.
