My Father’s House Visit 2010

MY FATHER’S HOUSE boys were as welcoming as always when we arrived back home in Liberia on January 20th.  They had signs posted everywhere and greeted us with their usual welcoming songs.  “ Mama we Love you!!” Yes, I am very blessed!!

I really did feel like I was COMING HOME!!

What an incredible privilege to be RAISING  UP LEADERS who will take a bold stand for Jesus Christ.  Four of our young men were water baptized on January 3rd.  These were Luogon Wonbiah, Konneh Taweh, Paul Barchue and Lasana Joseph.  Each one has an amazing testimony!

Right now we have  a total of 66 youth in our program.  38 are in highschool.  28 are in college, university, trade school or working at a small business.  Most of our youth are boys, but we do have a few girls who live out in rented rooms. These are sisters to our boys.  37 of our boys live at My Father’s House, the Discipleship Training Center, and our nearby apartments.  These places are all in the same neighbourhood, all very close together.  Our cooks are kept busy feeding so many students.

The others live out in rented rooms, or at Cuttington University in Bong County.  They come home on breaks. I want to say a big thank you to all our sponsors who make this possible.  You are the people who are generously giving and “including” them in your families.  Really that is what counts the most!

Joseph Sackie, Henry Dorbor, Patrick Goh, Frank Julutoe, Uriah Marcus, Daniel Coleman, Sumo Gibson and Dominic Roberts are among many in the house who love to sing

YOUTH WITH A MISSION spent 3 months leading a Discipleship Training School with over 40 of our young people.  What a life changing experience for some of them!

The  first topic was THE FATHER HEART OF GOD. How appropriate for our boys who have no fathers. Most fathers were killed in the war.  Other topics were…

  • Stewardship and Servant Hood
  • Integrity
  • Violence and Drug Abuse
  • Spiritual Warfare
  • Worldview and Faith
  • The Holy Spirit and Spiritual Gifts
  • Relationships and Team Dynamics
  • Quiet Time and Spiritual Growth
  • Evangelism and Personal Soul Winning
  • Cross Cultural Issues and HIV/AIDS

Provison of Hope became partners with YWAM in January 2009.  Jamel and Yeayea are outstanding people who pour into the youth of Liberia.   After the training sessions, our boys went out into the community to share their faith with others.  Ruben Gea came back saying, “ I didn’t know it was so easy to lead people to Jesus!!”  Today he is one of the team leaders in evangelism and they go out on a regular basis inviting the lost to find “Life in Christ”   For this primary reason we are called to RAISE UP
DISCIPLES.

Jesus is THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE!
