A Remarkable Champion!

Jallah Tutu is one of the most inspiring people I know!  His faith in God and his ability to persevere through severe hardships is most outstanding.  On January 29, 2021 Jallah graduated with a Master’s of Science in Nursing and Midwifery Education through a scholarship from Stella Maris Polytechnic University in Liberia.

In 1995 a young 9-year-old refugee found himself in a horrible camp in another country after being violently ejected from his beloved home country of Liberia due to the violent rebel wars of the early 1990’s. During the first ten years of desperate isolation and deep doubt that he would ever return home, Jallah snuck into the school room everyday in the hopes that one day he would rise up and become something more!

Upon graduating with distinction in 2015 with his Associate Degree in Nursing, Jallah served as a nurse in the very county where the dreaded Ebola outbreak started (in Liberia) and then went on to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Health Sciences and was employed by the same Mother Patern College of Health Sciences as their Clinical Supervisor. After working for less than a year he was encouraged by the Dean, Sr. Barbara Brillant, (who Karen Barkman and I met while in Liberia in 2009) to pursue a Master’s Degree in Nursing/Midwifery Education as a scholarship which will equip him for  4-years of service after graduation. The school not only paid his tuition for this 3-year program, but also paid his living expenses.”  words of Tim Moores who journeyed alongside his Liberian son and was always there to support Jallah through it all.  I will never forget the day we met Tim Moore’s Liberian family in the Buduburam Refugee Camp in 2009.  Jallah sings a song that gives me shivers every time I hear him sing it ” When I look back and see where He brought me from …. I appreciate Him all the more!”  Take a look at Jallah’s Journey. You will be so touched! Written by his Dad Tim Moores.

Jallah has always been a top student achieving excellent grades. Jallah has always been a top student achieving excellent grades.

LIBERIA NEEDS BIBLES

Nothing brings me more joy than giving out Bibles! I know what the Word of God does for me, and I want others to experience the same God encounters that I have experienced while reading my Bible. “The Bible is my source of strength. It is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105 It gives me hope and comfort. I get to know God, His character, and His Ways. The Word of Godis alive.
