OPERATION MAT TO MATTRESS brings JOY to our WIDOWS

What a difference our Mat to Mattress Program is making for our widows!  It is such a JOY to see the face of a widow when she sits down on her new bed, and comfortable “high quality” mattress.

Cold FloorMa Lucky

Our last Mat to Mattress beneficiary was Ma Lucky James.  She lives in a very poor one room place called home.  Before getting her bed she slept on the cold, hard floor.  Often her bones and muscles would ache from the cold.

Daniel Coleman, Frank Julutoe, Joshua Keamue, Jeremiah Gaye, and James Kollie all help to assemble the bed and do the makeover in the room.  They finish by putting new flooring in too.

OUR NEXT MAT TO MATTRESS WILL BE FOR MA MARY WILLIAMS

Frank Julutoe and Mary Williams 2Daniel points to the mould and how thin the mattress is

Frank Julutoe stands in the doorway of Ma Mary’s little room.  Daniel points to the thickness of her tiny mat.  Grandma Mary sleeps on the cold floor, with a thin blanket.  The rats do not seem to bother her, it is what she is used to.  It’s the cold floor that hurts her bones and causes the pain of arthritis to flare up.  With $250 we will be able to change everything for Ma Mary.

New Bed   $75   New High Quality Mattress $80  Warm blankets $25  Sheets + Pillow Cases  $10   Flooring $20   Mosquito Net $5   Bag of Rice $25   Transport of Goods $10   Total $250

These widows gather twice a month for fellowship.  You should hear them worship and pray!

It always touches my heart to see our widows get food.  They are so very thankful for so little.  They are precious!

Outreach to Bomi County

Daniel Coleman, our Director of Mercy Ministry, recently made a return visit to his birthplace in Bomi County, a place he cherishes and visits whenever he can. On each trip, he personally delivers used clothing, slippers, and rice to the community. They know him by name and are always happy when he visits. In the recent visit, Provision of Hope supported Daniel’s efforts with a small contribution, helping provide flip-flops and used clothing. He’s also brought some treats, such as popcorn,
