Ma Esther and her children moved into a 3 bedroom house this passed Sunday. This is a house we rented in a nice community close to the school they will attend.
Everyone is happy to be settled and especially to be back to sleeping in beds rather than on the floor.
Dennis loves his new bunk bed. Omoko sleeps on the upper bunk. Everyone has a nice comfortable mattress. Ma Esther still needs to buy herself a bed.
The boys from our Training Center did the painting, both inside and out. James Kollie (lt) and Jeremiah Gaye (rt) are both experienced painters. Good job guys!
Dennis + Jonathon are holding their gifts. We tried our best to make this day special for everyone, inspite of the tragedy of losing their home. To see photos of the fire Click here Ma Esther’s House Fire
Marie Lewis and Elijah Porte are happy to have Christmas gifts. After they open their gifts, everyone will get a party bag filled with popcorn, candy and a juice box. This is a very special treat!
Eletha is happy it’s Christmas. She loves party food! Ma Esther with her helpers did all the shopping and wrapping of the gifts. They were very busy the day before Christmas!
HERE IS A LIST OF ITEMS THEY STILL NEED
- Ma Esther needs a bed and mattress
- Table and 16 chairs
- More Clothes for everyone
- Shoes
- Dishes
- Spreads for the Beds
Thank you to everyone who has already donated towards this emergency! With your help we were able to rent this house, and paint it inside and out. We could quickly order new beds and mattresses.
The children are all registered to school and they all have new uniforms and shoes! Their will open on March 2nd. They can just walk across the road to school. Right beside their house is a medical clinic.
We have set up a Relief Fund for Ma Esther if anyone would like to donate towards their needs.
Our PLAN OF ACTION in the REBUILDING OF MA ESTHER’S HOME
A. Demolish the burned house. We already salvaged the reusable window bars and steel doors.
B. Draw new blueprints keeping the outer walls the same, so we can build on the existing foundation, which has not been affected by the fire.
C. Get pricing on the cost to rebuild
D. Fund raise the required amount. Estimated Cost $45,000
We have 3 Fundraisers coming up for this project. MARK YOUR CALENDARS
