Organic Farming Grows Health in Liberia

Provision of Hope is expanding our Organic Training to Empower the Rural Farmers of Liberia.  We believe in Growing Health in order to boost nutrition and fight disease.  As we educate our farmers we see this becoming a reality! WHAT WE EAT MATTERS!!

Have a look at this small community of farmers in Bomi Hill.  They just harvested 11 huge bags of cucumbers!

In January our Organic Trainers Kelvin Taweh and John Kucuyoiyoigee went with Daniel Coleman to Bomi with SEEDS and TOOLS for a group of Rural Farmers.  Thank you Daniel for introducing us to these passionate farmers in your home community.

Our trainers taught these farmers how to grow vegetables the organic way.  We use no chemicals to grow our food.  Kelvin demonstrated how to do double digging, how to bury organic matter in order to replenish the soil and how to use manure rather than chemical fertilizers. Both Kelvin and John have certificates with the THRIVE institute on line.  Their courses are structured according to the four pillars of Thrive and their proven Life Gardens methodology. Their four pillars are: 1) Organic Gardening 2) Nutrition 3) Natural Medicine and 4) Income Generation.  “Every pillar in our Growing Health methodology is essential — if one is missing, then the others lose their impact and potential for transformation and change.”  We are taking all our training from this source.  We have been coached by Dale Bolton, Founder of Thrive, since 2014 when he came to Liberia to teach our leaders how to boost Organic Farming in Liberia.
