Thank you to Antonia DeBoer and the SDC Kelowna Team for all you contributed to make this event such a great success.  A big thank you to the donors:  Holar Developments, Impact Toolbox, Interior Savings Credit Union, Kairos Foundation, Runnalls Denby, Shauna & Sheldon Gardiner and Victor Projects.

Provision of Hope secured a donor who matched these funds! This means we have $ 4,000 CAD for Life Gardens in Liberia! We have already started on the Projects this money was designated for.

A.  Organic Agriculture Training for Hope Academy School in Ganta, Nimba County.  Practical Training to make Life Gardens. Two Teachers from the school were given scholarships to take the Thrive for Good Institute on line to become Organic Agriculture Trainers.  This is the way we plan to expand our work in Liberia.

B.  Bomi County – 3 New Farming Groups, namely Gulu Farmers, Sayjolo Farmers and Lowa Farmers. We will come with our “Growing Health Training”, Tools and Seeds to launch each group. These are farmers who already have their own managers and cooperatives in place.  They are poor, but hard working and passionate to learn about organic farming. These are groups referred by other successful farming cooperatives who have had our training.

C. Continue to supervise the 4 Groups already going strong – God’s Favor, Burphy Town, Sadayah and Domofan Farmers.

Each garden bed is dug out then it is filled with a layer of Organic Matter. Preparing a proper garden base is vital to plant growth. Healthy soil produces healthy plants. Provision of Hope is looking forward to expanding our Organic Agriculture Training to other communities in Nimba County and beyond. We are getting so many invitations to come to farming groups in various rural counties of Liberia.
